On 13. March 2008 I will be embarking, together with 12 of my colleagues, on an expedition to Antarctica, sponsored Akzo Nobel, and led by the famed polar explorer Robert Swan.

This is my story – not only of the expedition and its aftermath, but also of the journey that culminated in this amazing opportunity...

Welcome

If my doctor also consents, I will have an incredible opportunity in March 2008 to go to Antarctica as part of Akzo Nobel’s Mission Antarctica. For me it is a once in a life time opportunity and I am very grateful for it. Mission Antarctica is an Akzo Nobel initiative, spanning all business units, to join Robert Swan and the 6th annual expedition to Antarctica. This Akzo Nobel initiative in partnership with Robert Swan’s 2041 organization is to raise awareness about sustainable business practices within the company, within the industry and to develop leadership talents within Akzo Nobel. This expedition will be an educational journey for me and I would like to invite you to virtually join me on my trip on this Mission Antartica Blog.

As the clock ticks down closer to March 13, I feel truly excited, nervous, and cold. I welcome you to visit
http://www.missionantarctica.com/ for the latest news about the expedition, to hear from other participants, and to learn more about Robert Swan, 2041 organization and about Antarctica. Thank you for the support and encouragement.
